Lines

cats and dogs,
rats and mice;
lice and mites
and bears and
birds: reptiles,
fish, publicans
alike mightier
than right, left
back, front and
sideways thru
a poke in the
eye with sticks
and stoned a
tonal shade of
grey, dour sky
lambasted for
arraignments
to siphon fund
and follow aft
a keel swept to
ocean's depth
and heaven's
height, hearts
unsearchable
perilous night
taken without
a fight and why
but join felled
mates over and
aboard pirated
of pleasure and
summer memory
in a vast territory
belonging to tour
de force athletes
pumping oxygen
far be it from we
to cut down trees
a sustainable fee
sees inheritance
awash amuck in
weeds and fins.
